Bboxx
Energy · Off-grid Solar · Africa
Bboxx — Next-generation utility delivering off-grid solar energy to 3.5 million people across 10 countries in Africa and Asia. Backed by Mitsubishi, ENGIE and the World Bank Group.
The challenge
Running Odoo across multiple subsidiaries in Rwanda, Kenya, DRC, Senegal and beyond — each with local currency, local tax rules, pay-as-you-go billing workflows, and IoT data from hundreds of thousands of connected solar units. A single misconfiguration affects families in rural Africa who depend on this system for electricity.
Why it matters
"When your ERP serves a company that provides electricity to 1.9 million rural households, there is no margin for error. Bboxx is the most operationally demanding Odoo deployment we have worked on — and the most meaningful."
